IMPULSE LTX MULTIMEDIA WHITEBOARDS
PART 1 GENERAL
1.01 SECTION INCLUDES

1.03 SUBMITTALS
A. Shop Drawings: From approved manufacturer for each type of Multimedia
Whiteboard required. Include plan view locations, elevations, installation
details, and accessories.
B. Product Data: Submit manufacturer’s technical data, product
specifications, installation instructions, and other pertinent information
as applicable for each product or material specified.
C. Operating and Maintenance instructions for each product.
D. Samples of Manufacturer’s standard and extended Warranties.
1.04 QUALITY ASSURANCE
A. Single Source Responsibility: Obtain all materials from one source,
from a single approved manufacturer for each different product required.
B. All materials are to be installed by an authorized representative
of the manufacturer.
C. Certification: UL, CE, FCC Class A, TUV, Bluetooth certified
1.05 DELIVERY, STORAGE AND HANDLING
A. Take care in handling products in accordance with manufacturer’s
instructions.
B. Store inside in original undamaged packaging, in a well-ventilated
area protected from weather, moisture, soiling, extreme temperatures,
and humidity. Store products in secure, protected area. Verify with
manufacturer that site conditions are acceptable before receiving material.
1.06 WARRANTY
A. One-year manufacturer’s warranty on printer. Two-year limited
warranty on all electronics and mechanical parts. Lifetime warranty
on P3 ceramicsteel writing surface.
B. Provide information on available extended warranties and on-site
plans.
PART 2 PRODUCTS
2.01 MANUFACTURERS
A. Required items shall be IMPULSETM LTX Series Multimedia Whiteboards
by PolyVision Corporation Norcross GA. Other manufacturers will be considered,
providing equipment meets or exceeds the quality specified, and they
can provide equipment of the type, size and function required. See Section
01630 for substitutions.
2.02 MULTIMEDIA WHITEBOARDS
A. Laser and sound tracking multimedia whiteboard with, 6100H, stain-resistant,
P3 ceramicsteel dry-erase writing surface with lifetime warranty, active
capturing at all times, on-board interactive web browser, interactive
projection capability without the addition of software. Board framed
in extruded aluminum. Units are equipped with speakers, cables, software,
pens, erasers, mounting hardware and accessories for a complete installation.

x 62.9” high x 5.2” deep with writing surface of 94.2”

C. Control Panel
1. Single button allows direct capture to printer, diskette, or built-in
Web server and internal archive.
2. Includes 3.5” high-density floppy diskette drive.
3. Floppy diskette holds approximately 14 captures of writing or 4
captures with projected displays.
4. Allows the user to toggle between separate and merged cursor control
for relative- mousing when needed.
5. Internal archive allows the stored captures to be viewed with the
use of a projector without the addition of a computer.
D. Built-in Web Server
1. Web server holds approximately 1000 images of writing or 100 captures
with projected displays.
2. Images can be accessed from anywhere on LAN using standard web
browser.
3. Images are retained even if power is lost.
4. Images are stored as PDF (.pdf) files, which can be printed or
e-mailed.
5. Supports fixed IP addressing or DHCP protocol and DNS.
E. Printer
1. Ethernet-enabled color printer (included).
F. Software Compatibility
1. USB mouse control with direct pointing works with Microsoft WindowsÒ
98, ME, 2000, XP, and MacintoshÒ OS 8, 9, and X.
2. PS/2 mouse control with relative pointing works on any computer
with PS/2 port.
3. Video output compatible with any XGA (1024 x 768) video projector.
G. On-board Technology
1. Captures the projected image and any handwriting on top of or
next to the projected image simultaneously.
2. Automatic pen color detection.
3. Enables control of a linked PC or Macintosh from the whiteboard
without additional software.
4. No alignment required when in “separate” mode. Four-point
projection alignment process when in “merged” setting.
H. Pens and Erasers
1. Black, red, green, and blue stylus markers have optically encoded
collars.
2. Each marker also works as a pointing stylus.
3. Large 8.5” x 2.25” rectangular-shaped eraser.
I. Trim
1. End-caps: (choose one) medium mahogany, winter on maple, amber
on maple, natural or medium cherry, or clear anodized aluminum.
2. Header/footer panel: (choose one) medium mahogany, winter on maple,
amber on maple, natural or medium cherry wood veneer, fabric-covered
tackable surface, natural tackable cork, or dimpled anodized aluminum
inserts.
A. Options:

2. Embroider the school or company logo onto fabric.
J. Accessories:
1. Standard accessories: 96 each dry-erase markers with optically
encoded collars, in black, blue, red, and green; interactive eraser;
30’ multi-purpose laptop cable (HD-15 VGA, USB with PS/2 adapter,
1/8” mini audio, Netware enabled color printer, 8’ power
cord, 15’ 100 Base-T Ethernet cable, mounting hardware, user
guide.
2. Optional accessories:
A. Compatible projectors.
B. Wireless Bluetooth-enabled printer, operates up to 25-feet from
system.
PART 3 EXECUTION
3.01 EXAMINATION
A. Examine room conditions and wall surfaces to assure they are in
compliance with requirements and other conditions affecting installation
and operation of Multimedia Whiteboards. Do not proceed with installation
until unsatisfactory conditions have been corrected.
B. Where necessary, field-verify measurements before ordering units.
3.02 INSTALLATION
A. Perform installation utilizing PolyVision certified installers.
Installation company shall provide PolyVision Certification to the architect/owner
prior to the start of work.
B. Install units in locations and at mounting heights indicated, according
to manufacturer’s written instructions. Keep perimeter lines straight,
plumb, and level. Provide all hardware necessary for a complete installation.
3.03 ADJUSTING
A. Verify that accessories required for each unit have been properly
installed.
B. Make all mechanical and technical adjustments to each unit to assure
proper operation.
3.04 CLEANING
A. Remove rubbish, debris, and waste materials and deposit in dumpster
provided on site.
B. Clean units according to manufacturer’s written instructions.
