POLYVISON BREAKS BARRIERS TO ELECTRONIC WHITEBOARD ADOPTION
-- New Walk-and-Talk™ Finally Makes Electronic Whiteboards Easy to Use --

Orlando, Fl. (June 4, 2003) – Why does it take the electronic whiteboard industry years to ship 100,000 units, while the PC industry ships more than 300,000 units a day? Simply put, electronic whiteboards in their current form are not intuitive to use.

Determined to shake up the marketplace, PolyVision is launching a new electronic whiteboard, the Walk-and-Talk Presentation Series that promises to make the industry one million users large. Mike Dunn, PolyVision President and CEO, explains, “Electronic whiteboards in their current form are not easy to learn and use. We challenged ourselves to create a product you could use while walking through the audience. We set the criteria that the system had to come without any new software to learn and would work just like a standard whiteboard while giving you all the benefits of an electronic whiteboard.”

Unlike other electronic whiteboards on the market, the Walk-and-Talk Presentation Series comes with a remote control that allows a presenter to roam freely away from the board while presenting. It removes the need for cluttered icon strips that remain permanently down the side of the board or special pen trays that take up surface space.

The Walk-and-Talk series allows any user to instantly begin using the boards without pre-loading special software with PolyKey™ Technology for Instant Plug and Play. “We looked at the 46 other software packages out there for electronic whiteboards and realized that enough is enough,” added Dunn. Attached to the board’s USB cable, PolyKey plugs into any computer to instantly connect the electronic whiteboard, eliminating the need for special application software.

The Walk-and-Talk series is available in two versions, the standard edition designed for users that primarily use the board to give presentations, and the writing edition for users that write extensively on the board. Both editions will be available in Fall 2003.
