POLYVISION UPGRADES SOFTWARE FOR POPULAR WEBSTER SERIES
OF INTERACTIVE WHITEBOARDS


-- New Features Improve Interactive Display and Increase Readability--

ATLANTA – (August 15, 2003) – PolyVision, the worldwide leader in visual communication products and a Steelcase (NYSE: SCS) Company, released its Webster 3.2 software upgrade today.

The new release features significant enhancements that offer improved interactive display, increased readability, more collaboration capabilities, new highlighting functions, and improved performance. The software upgrade works with the entire Webster suite of products including interactive whiteboards, plasma displays, and rear projection units.

“We’re constantly looking for ways to improve the performance and usability of our products,” Mike Dunn, PolyVision president and CEO, said. “Our Webster interactive products have already enhanced presentation and learning environments immensely, and these software improvements will continue to support existing work practices and tools people know and use every day.”

Version 3.2 features include:

  • Improved Projection Alignment – The software now supports 4-, 8-, and 16-point projection alignment for better accuracy in interactive display;
  • Highlighter Pen – A built-in highlighting capability allows users to emphasize important points;
  • Multiple Monitor Support – Users can run multiple whiteboards and projectors on the same computer for much larger interactive displays, further encouraging the collaborative nature of the products;
  • Smoother Lines – “Anti-aliased rendering” is used to create sharper lines on any electronic whiteboard, improving the readability (only available on Microsoft Windows platform); and

Webster 3.2 supports Microsoft Windows 98, ME, NT, 2000, and XP as well as Macintosh OS 8.6, OS 9, and OS X.

The new software is shipping now with all Webster products. For existing boards, users may download the software from PolyVision’s Web site for no additional cost at http://www.websterboards.com/support/downloads.html.
