POLYVISION INTRODUCES INDUSTRY’S FIRST “FINGERTIP” ADJUSTABLE HEIGHT STAND FOR INTERACTIVE WHITEBOARDS
New Product Improves Current Board Mobility

Atlanta – (Mar. 30, 2004) – PolyVision Corporation, the worldwide leader in visual communication products and a Steelcase (NYSE: SCS) Company, today announced the availability of its Adjustable Height Stand, the newest addition to the Walk-and-Talk™ family of products.

The Adjustable Height Stand is the only interactive whiteboard stand in the market that easily adapts to the height of any user, offering flexibility, ease-of-use and convenience in any environment.

“Durability, style and, most importantly, flexibility create the cornerstones for this stand,” said Mike Dunn, PolyVision president and CEO. “Our user-centered research showed us how people seemed to struggle with height adjustability of interactive whiteboard stands – many times requiring the support of two people. We felt it was important to take the industry lead and design a stand that can be easily moved and that one individual could simply adjust, making it ideal for anyone, including those with physical limitations.”

PolyVision’s Adjustable Height Stand solves the most common problems associated with stands of this type: height adjustment, mobility, and storage.

Unique components in the stand’s construction make for effortless, fingertip height adjustment; large, easy-glide wheels improve mobility; and a convenient storage basket ensures the safe portability of all materials. The stand’s components make the attached board seem feather-light, allowing one person to easily lift or lower the board to a variety of heights. The four-inch-wide wheels allow users to easily roll the stand over door thresholds, carpet, linoleum, or any other type of flooring. To prevent the stand from rolling out of place, two diagonal wheels are designed with foot-deployed locking mechanisms. The large storage basket’s grid design prevents dust build-up, so items won’t slide in transition.

The Adjustable Height Stand meets American Disability Act (ADA) standards for accessible design. Prices range from $639 to $719, based upon the Walk-and-Talk interactive whiteboard model it supports, and comes with a two-year warranty, extending to five years upon product registration.
