Contact: Suwanee, Georgia (June 2, 2006) – PolyVision Corporation, a Steelcase Company (NYSE:SCS) and the world leader in visual communication products, announced today the appointment of Kim Quinn to the position of business development director, education. In this role, Quinn will be responsible for building and directing PolyVision’s education market strategy. Quinn brings over 17 years experience to PolyVision in educational technology at the state and local levels and will be instrumental in developing and implementing PolyVision’s go-to-market strategy for the education space. She joins PolyVision from the Cobb County School District where she served as the chief information officer of the 30 th largest school district in the nation. Prior to that role, Quinn functioned as the director of instructional technology for the State of Georgia and the director of technology for the State of Maine. As the director of technology, Quinn worked closely with then Governor Angus King to lead Maine in becoming the first state in the nation to execute a statewide 1:1 laptop initiative for all 7 th and 8 th grade students and teachers across the state. Quinn was also instrumental in implementing a statewide distance learning program. “I joined the PolyVision team because of their reputation as a leader and visionary in the education market and because of their exemplary management team, products and technology,” said Quinn. “I look forward to joining this team and working to ensure that PolyVision continues to provide premier solutions to the education space.” Quinn has a Bachelors of Science in Education with a math/computer science concentration and a Masters in Education with a concentration in instructional technology. She has been a member of several national organizations including COSN (Consortium for School Networking), SETDA (State Educational Technology Directors Association), GAEL (Georgia Association of Educational Leaders), and DELC (Digital Education Leadership Conversation). In 2002, Quinn received the “In the Arena” award from the Center for Digital Education for her leadership and vision in the area of Educational Technology Leadership. “Kim’s point of view on improved student achievement through the appropriate application of technology closely aligns with PolyVision’s own unique position.” said Mike Dunn, President and CEO of PolyVision. “The addition of Kim to our team furthers our strategy of providing user-centered products with a singular focus on adoption.”
