POLYVISION LETS PRESENTERS STAND AND DELIVER WITH
WALK-AND-TALK™ CORDLESS LECTERN
New Product Revolutionizes the Presentation Experience
ATLANTA – (August 9, 2004) – PolyVision
Corporation, the worldwide leader in visual communication products and
a Steelcase (NYSE: SCS) Company, recently unveiled its new Walk-and-Talk™
Cordless Lectern – the next in a series of products based on PolyVision’s
unique Walk-and-Talk technology that provides mobility, ease of use and
no special software to learn.
“No one should have to change the way he or she works in order to
use technology,” said Mike Dunn, PolyVision President and CEO. “The
Walk-and-Talk Cordless Lectern allows users to present the way they want,
from anywhere they want while benefiting from the latest in visual communications
technology.
The foundation of this new presentation solution is built on two main
components: an interactive flat-panel display and a battery-powered, adjustable-height,
mobile lectern. PolyVision’s interactive display acts as an extension
of a computer, simplifying and improving its use in large group settings.
Presenters can access files, run applications, highlight key points, and
capture new thoughts from the interactive display surface using either
a stylus or fingertip. Or, presentations can be controlled from anywhere
in the room via an intuitive remote control, unshackling presenters altogether
and allowing them to leave the lectern and more personally engage the
audience. The interactive display uses PolyVision’s patent pending
Walk-and-Talk technology that creates a true walk-up-and-use experience,
minimizing set-up and virtually eliminating the need to learn special
software.
Presenters can also adjust the lectern to a variety of heights and positions
– including supporting the wheelchair-bound – while easily
moving it around a room or auditorium to adapt to their presentation needs.
Users no longer have to worry about choosing a single location to present
– they can change it on a whim. And, after a full day of extensive
use, the battery pack can be re-charged quickly for another day’s
work.
“Individuals can arrive at their rooms, plug in their laptops and
be ready to go with the confidence that they can present the way they
want,” said Dunn. “And, once they’ve used the Walk-and-Talk
Cordless Lectern, they’ll be hard pressed to return to the way they
once presented.”
The Cordless Lectern will be available in the fall of 2004 through authorized
PolyVision dealers. The interactive flat panel display is available as
a stand-alone product for users not requiring a complete mobility package.
