POLYVISION INTRODUCES THE FIRST CALIBRATION-FREE INTERACTIVE WHITEBOARD
-- New Board Virtually Eliminates Projection Alignment Time --

LAS VEGAS (June 8, 2005) – PolyVision Corporation, a Steelcase Company (NYSE:SC) and the world leader in visual communication products, today introduced the first and only calibration-free interactive whiteboards in the industry. Each of these revolutionary new whiteboards is equipped with the patent pending Lightning™ technology that completely eliminates the need for manual calibration.

Most interactive whiteboards require people to touch each corner of the projected image to obtain alignment with the projector. But the majority of respondents questioned for a major study at a leading educational conference said that calibration is the most frustrating issue they face in using interactive whiteboards. Nearly half of respondents also said that their boards needed to be re-calibrated between one and six times each day. This user research uncovered a strong need and inspired PolyVision to create the world’s first calibration-free interactive whiteboards.

“We have carefully listened to people’s viewpoints associated with the use of interactive whiteboards,” said Mike Dunn, CEO of PolyVision. "We have also observed users panicking and fumbling around to get their interactive whiteboards set up before a presentation. And we have again responded with a fantastic solution which will eliminate frustration and allow people to focus on their audience instead of the technology.”

PolyVision will be conducting live demonstrations of Lightning at the 2005 InfoComm Conference and Expo. Stop by booth 3000 to see how PolyVision has removed the last barrier to interactive whiteboard adoption.
