PolyVision showcases e3 environmental
ceramicsteel™, the world’s first and only
ecologically
intelligent writing surface with Cradle to Cradle™ certification
at the NSSEA tradeshow in Atlanta, GA
Suwanee, GA (February 22, 2007) – PolyVision’s
unparalleled track record of being the industry leader in visual
display tools for education continues at NSSEA this year by bringing
eVision™, the company’s environmental Point of View, to the
classroom. e3 environmental ceramicsteel™, the world’s first and
only ecologically intelligent writing surface with Cradle to Cradle™ certification will be featured at the show.
PolyVision, a Steelcase Company, is leading the way
by making environmental responsibility a part of everything they
do. Their environmental Point of View, eVision, drives the company
to continually evaluate alternate resources and process improvements
for both existing products and new products. This cycle of constant
improvement enables PolyVision to capitalize on technology and material
efficiency to reduce the company’s environmental footprint while developing products that advance human health, social responsibility and economic success.
In August last year PolyVision received the coveted
GREENGUARD™ Children and Schools™ Certification for Marker and
Tack Boards. GREENGUARD certification provides third-party verification
that PolyVision products support a healthy indoor air environment
specifically for children in K-12 and daycare facilities.
PolyVision then announced in November that it had received Cradle to Cradle certification
for its new e3 environmental ceramicsteel surface, in both the US
and Europe, as one of the first major steps in their eVision philosophy.
The new designation marks the first Cradle to Cradle certification
of any product in Europe and was followed by PolyVision’s U.S. Cradle
to Cradle Silver certification for its Premium Whiteboards featuring
e3 environmental ceramicsteel surface.
“Launching the first Cradle to Cradle Certified whiteboard
is part of PolyVision’s continuing commitment to the environment
and a key part of our eVision™ product development strategy,” said
Mike Dunn, President and CEO of PolyVision. “PolyVision is dedicated
to taking the lead in the development and distribution of products
that comply with the evolving ecological interests and requirements
of today’s workplace. Everyone has a duty to be environmentally responsible
and we are thrilled to be leading the industry in this important
initiative.
”
Cradle to Cradle certification focuses on the characteristics of sustainable materials, products and systems. The certification process places a major emphasis on the human and ecological health impacts of a product’s ingredients, as well as on the ability of that product to be truly recycled or safely composted. The quality of energy used to create a product, water quantity and quality, and social responsibility also are essential sustainability characteristics and focus areas in this certification process.
e3 environmental ceramicsteel will be showcased at the NSSEA tradeshow, booth 1035, in Atlanta, GA.
