Chicago, IL. (June 17, 2003) –
PolyVision, the world leader in visual communication and a Steelcase
Company (NYSE: SCS), won the Best of NeoCon Gold Award for its Impulse™
LTX multimedia whiteboard system this week. The Impulse LTX system
represents a new class of product designed to support a walk up
and use experience without the need for training, or preparation.
The LTX allows users to write on a large format whiteboard, saving
all notes and projected images electronically, and seamlessly moving
from individual work to group collaboration and back again.
“We are excited about winning the Best of NeoCon Gold award.
It confirms our commitment to a seamless integration of technology
work tools in the office and product designs that don’t change
the way people work, but support and enhance existing work practices,”
said Michael H. Dunn, PolyVision president and CEO.
At NeoCon 2003, PolyVision is showcasing the following visual communication
systems to support the transition from individual work to group
collaboration:
More than 250 products were entered in 28 product
and furnishings categories in the competition, sponsored annually
by Facilities Design & Management magazine, Contract magazine,
The International Interior Design Association (IIDA), and Merchandise
Mart Properties, Inc.
The competition differs from others in three major respects. One,
the jury is composed of 20 corporate, government, and institutional
facilities management executives and business facilities interior
designers who are responsible for selecting and buying furniture
and furnishings for their specific organizations or their clients'.
Two, the five jury teams visited Merchandise Mart showrooms and
temporary Market Suites to examine each product in person, rather
than judging products based on photo or slide images. Three, each
manufacturer had the opportunity to explain and discuss details
of the entered product and answer jurors' questions.
Each system is poised for rapid adoption within the corporate and
higher education markets. TabletBoard and the Impulse LTX multimedia
whiteboard system are available immediately.
